This is the festival where the Georgia trails community comes together — hikers, mountain bikers, kayakers, trail runners, equestrians, campers, jeep and RV enthusiasts — everyone is welcome! We will have multiple trail related vendors, educational trail talks, food trucks, local hard cider, and craft beer, and more.
Join us at the beautiful Reece's Cider, Co. in Ellijay, GA. The day will start with the annual Sasquatch Strut 5k and Fun Run at 8 a.m. followed by l tra alks, vendors, food trucks, and more.

Ellijay is located 75 minutes north of Atlanta and 60 minutes from Marietta,
easy access from Highway 515 and to the beautiful mountains of North Georgia.
This event is free, however, donations will be appreciated.

The Appalachia Georgia Friends of the Bears’ mission is to reduce Human / Bear conflict through proactive educational outreach programs, increase public awareness about coexisting with black bears, the use of humane bear deterrents, and advocacy.
Mark will offer two small group nature walks called "Through the Eyes of the Cherokee." An easy walk to learn about the gifts of nature that supplied the Cherokee with their everyday needs. You must sign up in person at the festival at Mark Warren's booth (a maximum of 20 participants per walk).
The ceremony and ribbon cutting to officially welcome Ellijay, East Ellijay, and Gilmer County as a Benton Mackaye Trail Town. Community dignitaries will be present for the ceremony. All are welcome and encouraged to join us!
To preserve, protect, and maintain the Benton MacKaye Trail. We will be giving you updates on exciting things happening with the Benton MacKaye Trail both locally and nationally.
Mark Warren, an award-winning writer and naturalist, composer, novelist, and director of the nationally renowned wilderness school, Medicine Bow will be sharing his knowledge from our Trail Fest stage.
Actress Anne Van Curen transforms into Emma "Grandma" Gatewood to describe what it was like to be the first woman to solo hike the Appalachian Trail in 1955. The dramatization is based off of the book "Grandma Gatewood's Walk", which was written from accounts of Gatewood's surviving family members,
Georgia Appalachian Trail Club manages, maintains, and protects the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Georgia with volunteers from its membership and the interested public.
